I have never been injured nor known anyone to be injured on that slide. However if you replace it with a taller one off the ground there will be far more injuries from children climbing and falling off. Those injuries happen all the time.

As a 1988 graduate of West Branch, I spent countless hours of elementary recess sliding down that slide.
I could see removing the slide if there were accidents over the years, but as stated by school officials nothing.
Leave a little history and heritage stay.

This slide is as safe as possible and it is only dangerous when kids are being stupid and unsafe but for kids who are safe don't get hurt

If the slide has posed no threat, then why must it be torn down? I could understand if something actually happened, but there is nothing wrong with it.

I don't see how its a safety concern if no one has been hurt on it. Keep the slide.

Keep the slide. Kids need to be kids....bumps and bruises build character that's part of being a kid. Otherwise wrap them in bubble wrap daily.

This slide has been around for years and has not caused any problems. There is no reason to get rid of it.
