There is no reason this slide can't be upgraded to be made as safe as any newly purchased slide at a fraction of the cost

Fix it up, if need be. It has been part of WB, for too long, to just be tore down for no valid reason.

If safety is an issue with the slide because of the support beams underneath it, then wouldn't it make sense just to put up some sort or wooden or concrete wall? It'll keep the kids from potentially harming themselves like what the article states, and the slide would be able to stay. It wouldn't be that difficult to build it either, and it'd only take a week to complete it too.
