That a women's party lets themselves be run to serve men makes me weep

So important that women maintain their sex based rights. This is why I joined the Women's Equality Party and have been saddened to see the Party failing to fully commit to this.

Women’s rights and trans rights need not be in opposition. But we need to have the conversation.

We can uphold both trans rights and sex based rights. We mustn’t let either one erode the other. In order to sort out the best approach for everyone, people need to be able to discuss the creation of laws that are fair for everyone without being censored or labelled as bigots.

Long standing WEP member who would like to see an official policy on this so I can decide if I'm staying a member or not.

Shameful that we even have to ask. I was a founding member but cancelled when I learnt that Trans Women were accepted as members. A conflict of interest.

If there is no commitment to women as a sex class there is no commitment to women's rights. Policy capture by trans lobby groups like Stonewall and Gendered Intelligence is already having an impact on public life, and women's right to safe spaces and fair competition has already been compromised. Politicians need to stand up for women.

I looked into joining and then found out this party doesn't even support the rights women already have in law so I can't see how it can be a party for women.

It is critical for WEP to provide clarity on this issue.

You can't identify into an oppressed class because you identify into an oppressed class.

Removing the rights from an already discriminated against group and giving them to another is not equality it is erasure and oppression.
