This petition is to remind the Met Office that we are supposed to be in the middle of summer, and to request an immediate return to the warm, dry, settled sunny weather that we need this time of year, instead of the washout we have seen the last couple of months. Also, to make them realise that they are spoiling people's holidays, and do something about it by improving the weather at once. It is unkind and unacceptable to give constant rain all through what is supposed to be summer, which is why this petition is calling for an immediate return to hot, dry, settled sunny weather for at least the next three weeks. Why do they have to spoil people's holidays It is just miserable being stuck in a tent or caravan in the pouring rain, being ankle deep in mud, or struggling along the beach in a gale. With the schools on holiday, the need for sun has never been higher. Life is difficult enough for many people at the moment, with the worsening economic situation, and the last thing they need is constant rain. Some sunshine would make us all feel better. The SW of the UK relies heavily on tourism, and people are going to think twice about coming here for a holiday again if all the weather does is rain. The forecasts this time of year should consist mainly of words like "settled" "warm" "dry" "sun". Its not as though we need the rain, the reservoirs are full, and the ground is wet. If this unremitting wet carries on then crops will start rotting in the fields like they did last year, and food prices will rise even further. The bills for the NHS will rise further as people feel ill and depressed. After the recent criticisms aimed at the Met Office by the media , the least they could do would be to dramatically improve their forecasts, especially as they know that the schools are on holiday. The winter is depressing enough with the cold, wet and dark. At least give us some respite during the summer months.WE NEED SUN NOW!
I was looking out the window at another grey afternoon and it honestly just feels like a personal insult at this point. People keep messaging me with photos of their soggy tents which is just heartbreaking because we really deserve better than this constant drizzle while the schools are out. I am trying to find a way to get someone at the office to actually listen instead of just handing us more rain clouds so stay tuned.

I honestly never thought this would gain this much steam but it just keeps growing and honestly I am so tired of checking the clouds every single morning. It is honestly wild to see so many of you feeling the exact same level of frustration with these endless gray skies and I really think someone has to listen eventually if we just keep this up.
