New research shows just how important natural light is to our level of productivity during a working day. The findings, published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine, suggest that a lack of natural light can deprive individuals of up to 46 minutes of sleep per night and as a result, these individuals are more likely to feel irritable and tired in comparison to those that work in a space with good natural light.
We have been moved from a room lined with huge windows to a basement with artificial light and A/C with no warning. As students who pay £9000 a year we must fight for a space that will benefit our health and in turn our creativity and level of learning. If you want the University to reconsider their decision to move us to the basement please sign this petition.
We can't change anything if we don't work together!

The response to this has been overwhelming and it shows just how many of us are struggling in that basement. My eyes are tired and the work is exhausting but seeing this level of backing keeps me going.

If they won't move you back the. You could solve it in an IMI way and build 'sun tunnels' using mirrors to beam sun in.
Recently my eyes have been having problems in artificial light, need natural light for them to not get strained.
Let the fees reflect the conditions
With fees what they are - students shouldn't be in a basement!

It's amazing how much more productive and creative you are in natural daylight! I've also work in offices with air conditioning systems, which caused me to get sick more often!
Well, we international students didn't pay £14500 to work in a basement.

I'm claustrophobic and don't like the idea of no natural light for so many hours of a day.
