This development never really had a strong beating heart, more a weak pulse. Bringing Spoons here will invigorate all the other businesses around and tip the relatively high playing field in the pub arena down to a realistic and affordable level. A good curry and a pint on a Thursday night for under £8 - what's not to like?

I have no doubt a Wetherspoon pub would be an asset to Dorking town which will help local businesses the other pubs l am sure would keep their regular trade

Wetherspoons are well managed pubs which should be welcomed in a part of the town which has shown signs of atrophication for some time. It would be a meeting place for all ages bringing a bit of vitallity to the town.

I would definitely like to see wetherspoons in a Dorking town centre. Everyone keeps moaning about the town being dead and it needs more life. It would be a great idea, it is off the main high street so would not cause problems. Fed up with people moaning that the town is dead but as soon as a new business wants to come in they moan. There are people of all ages here and it would attract more business for the rest of the town as well.

YES, definitely open a Wetherspoons in Dorking. Just what the town needs. Lots of younger people travel outside the town as there are no good pubs in the town. Somewhere for everyone to get together in the centre of town. All the other pubs are small and grotty. A good reason to stay in the town and will encourage visitors from outside the area to come into the town too which is what we need. The other businesses which will be affected could relocate to other vacant premises in the town. Those businesses are not very prominent anyway - I don’t use any of them!

I think Wetherspoons would be a good idea in Dorking. Most people who don't have loads of money, would appreciate somewhere to go for a meal with their family that is good and affordable,unlike most of the other establishments currently in the town. I will still frequent the snake pit though.

Love Wetherspoons pubs and currently have to go to Leatherhead or Epsom to go out for the evening. they could always introduce pub watch like Epsom if there are concerns over roudy clientele.

Dorking is far too 'posh' to entertain a Wetherspoons but aren't we supposed to embrace 'inclusion'. I've had the pleasure of being in several Wetherspoon outlets throughout the UK and the scenarios being portrayed by the anti-lobby do not reflect the premises that I have had personal experience of.

Dorking needs investments and jobs. It will also benefit other businesses and make some of them update the way they operate. Competition is good, monopoly leads to apathy.
