Hello. This is a petition that the D2 class has put together to emphasize our need for weekend lab coverage. The second year of dental school is known to be most demanding in both didactic material and lab work, and our hand skills rely on the extent of our practice. It is over the weekend that we have the most flexibility to come into lab and improve our tactility. Marie and Ellie's presence is necessary for equipment supply, lab management, student support, and many other services. We utilize their help tremendously, and appreciate it very much. Without Marie and Ellie, it would be indefinitely more difficult to achieve the level of skill-work that we are aiming for. Thank you.

Updates

November 25, 2012

The administration is finally listening to our requests for weekend access. We are still waiting for a formal response regarding staff support.

The momentum is incredible. This shows how frustrated everyone is about the lack of weekend access.

Without lab access my skills are suffering. We need them there on weekends.

Seriously. They are the only ones who can fix the equipment when it breaks down. We are stuck without them.

The demand is way too high to limit lab time during the week. Please fix this schedule asap.

How are we supposed to get our hours in without access? This is common sense.

D2 year is brutal enough as it is. We really need Marie and Ellie there on weekends if we want to actually pass boards.
