Weavers school uniform

My child is yr 10 and I have twins starting

As a parent I will be buying where I can afford to buy uniform

It is unfair that the boys uniform cost has increased so much when it’s the girls who are breaking the uniform rules. A skirt can be worn for longer than trousers so parents of boys will need to buy more pairs. The quality of the new trousers seems poor which is frustrating when they are almost three times more expensive. If you want a logo why can’t we purchase our own trousers and add the logo on? Tesco offers this service.

How ridiculous, the school can not be expecting parents to buy there children £18.50 for a skirt and £17.00 for a pair of trousers... the average female pupil would not want to wear the same skirt for 5 days in a row, as obviously they get dirty so at a push one female pupil will require 2 skirts totalling £37.00... The price list clearly baits out the poorer families and will lead to pupils getting bullied due to either dirty uniform or not being able to afford £17.00 for a pair of trousers while could be bought from Primark for £8 a pair!!!!! Absolutely ridiculous that the school has even considered this as if uniform wasn’t already expensive enough... the school expresses morals about how they take a strong stance against bullying but surely this is promoting bullying further and for the Families that work hard and live from pay check to pay check it’s pathetic why can’t they purchase alternative skirts and trousers from cheaper shops like Primark, Next or H&M. So by all means charge our children and and our family’s in whatever circumstance they may be in £18.50 for 1 skirt and £17 for 1 pair of trousers... but do not expect them to wear them! I have the utter most respect for anyone who wants to get similar from cheaper shops to help prevent the extortion of Weavers prices. BUT WEAVERS EXPECT WAR... From families and pupils if you do not change the rules and or the price list!

I think this is a very stupid and shocking idea which this school has come up with. Not only is it pricey, it looks bloody awful. Waste of money in my opinion. That money could go on providing my 2 children with stationary which you fools complain about. So how about you get your posh fingers out your arse and deal with these problems and try to get an outstanding from Ofsted.

It works out for my family over £100 and that's without loss or theft at school that teachers have no time for. Some parents can't even get financial support as they just earn over the financial barrier. How do the teachers think a lot of families are going to manage this extra financial burden? It's an absolute disgrace in times of hardship and poverty for a lot of Wellingborough families, the school think its acceptable to create financial worry and all because of a uniform policy that the teachers cannot manage anyway, apart from picking on the younger students. I strongly disagree with this decision to change uniform and rip parents off with a probable sub standard product with a school logo that is covered up anyway.

Far too expensive and parents should have been involved and discussed with before the introduction of new costs for new uniform.
