Single mothers are not the 'disgrace' of the Tunisian society like Souad Abderrahim, elected as part of the candidate list of Tunisia’ s Islamist Ennahda party, declared on Tuesday on French Arabic-speaking radio station, Radio Monte Carlo Douayila.
The Ennahda's deputy stated that single mothers shouldn't have legal rights, since all families “should be formed within marriage.” “Liberties shouldn’t be absolute, but framed within the customs, traditions and the respect of morals” she said, “There is no room for complete or absolute freedom.”.
We, supporters of single mothers in Tunisia and elsewhere, will never bow down in front of any authority that will seek to roll back on women's rights. Like any human being, single mothers have the right to exist and to be protected.
We, supporters of single mothers in Tunisia and elsewhere, will never be silent in front of authoritian leaders who want to take control of our lives, spirits and bodies.
We, supporters of single mothers in Tunisia and elsewhere, will never let Ennahda marginalize single mothers or any other women from the society.

Souad Abderrahim needs to grow up. Times are changing and single moms are not the problem here her attitude is.
This is disgusting. No woman should be shamed for raising her kids on her own. We deserve respect just like everyone else.
