Support WEA Margaret Sanders Branch
Margaret Sanders lived in Oxford and returned to education as a mature student. Very sadly, she died shortly after completing her degree at Brookes University. In her memory, her family and friends set up the WEA Margaret Sanders Branch which aims to provide free courses to increase self-confidence and empower women who are educationally, socially or economically disadvantaged. Over the past 20 years, the branch has supported over 1500 women back into education. Oxford City Council has this year decided not to give the small grant request of £3000. Without this grant the branch may not continue. We ask the city council to reconsider its decision and fund the branch in its important work.
