The detention of children is a disgrace. Refugees should not be kept in detention and people should be able to speak out against in humane treatment! Shame on this government and these policies! #wewontbesilenced

Do not be silenced. You all are the voice of those who have been treated so badly. Principles and ethics are more important than Abbott's threats!

This law is without any moral fibre, such laws defy God's law, to love one another as Jesus loves us.

The Border Force Act contradicts my Nursing and Midwifery Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics. Therefore, I stand with the Community against this Act.

Racist human rights abuse shrouded in secrecy because it is appalling and shameful. It's in my backyard, but not in my name.

The Border Force Act is further evidence that the current Australian Government treats terrified refugee families inhumanely and utterly without compassion. NOT IN MY NAME

I am a paediatric nurse and am appalled that this government believes a refugee's rights are somehow lesser than the everyday Australian's. Abuse is abuse. We won't be silenced.

I stand with my fellow social workers in condemning the Australian government for its inhumane, illegal and deplorable new legislation. Social workers and other mandated reporters now face up to 2 years in JAIL for speaking out about abuse against asylum seekers (aka state sanctioned abuse). Young children attempting suicide? Guards assaulting women? The government we (not me) elected wears this shame. I also stand with all asylum seekers searching for refuge in Australia. I wish our country was full of more of "you" and less of "us".
