Dear Current & Potential Business Owners in Mt. Rainier,
We will regularly buy coffee from a shop in downtown Mt. Rainier, MD.
Our amazing neighborhoods of Brentwood/Mt. Rainier lacks a place to walk to and get a good cup of coffee, sit down, and say hi to neighbors. We are the residents who are eager for such a shop and are committed to buying from it. Our community lacks a public gathering area for daily communal interactions, and this can serve as a viable business and community service.
Recognizing that we are a small neighborhood, we believe a cafe could fit well within a larger business model - such as Pennyroyal Station or the new wine bar - since those businesses do not have morning customers so can augment revenue and have good outdoor seating. (We love the juicebar that does offer coffee, but it does not specialize in quality coffee nor have outdoor access). A range of coffee prices and milk alternatives will help create an inclusive atmosphere for the diversity of financial and health needs in our community.
We are the residents who regularly wish we could take a walk to pick up a few items from Glutt and get a coffee while we're in the area and say hi to neighbors at the cafe
A cafe can be a wonderful community gathering space and we will gladly patron it.

The local business owners have finally started taking notice because they can no longer ignore the demand. It is time for them to step up and realize that our neighborhood is starving for a place to sit and socialize over a real cup of coffee.

I'd love a close place to pick up coffee, a snack, and/or a sandwich. I think about this need everyday!
