the administration finally confirmed they are rolling over our dorm fees to next semester. honestly still in shock that this worked but im so glad we pulled together to get it done. keep an eye on your student portals for the credit to appear soon.

In the light of the COVID19 home isolation, the tenants of the AU male and female hostel would like to request from the administrative staff of Ajman University to have the fees that we paid for the hostel this semester be transferred to the next semester.

The covid-19 is a time where families should be together. Paying for a room you’re not staying in is not right at all. Especially during a time like this.
At least half of the amount goes to next semester More than 12000 is paid for one month only!
It’s my last semester and I only stayed in the hostel for one month. It’s not fair for us to pay the full fees of 4 months with no use of them.
For this semester we barely set in the hostel for a month the fees should be transferred for next semester for the people who are not staying at the hostel we are not using our rooms we are not using any of the dorms facilities plus we can’t even go in to get our stuff
We rarely stayed in dorms this semester so it’s only right to move it to the coming semester, just as other universities did.

There was a limitation from student housing office, that we are not allowed to come back .. "all male students (not currently staying in the AU Residence), be they in the country or abroad, shall not be allowed to return to the Student Residence until the University officially announce" Even if we decided to come back, we are not allowed to return, in other words we paid for a full semester and we stayed only one month.
