Amazing teacher. I went into intro to video with no experience and he taught me so much. He is so valuable to many students even those outside the video program

Rick has been a great teacher and has helped me when I've asked for it. It's unfair that Husson is doing this.

During my freshman year, Rick Davis was my teacher for video one. He had inspired me to do better in my video assignments and other projects. Rick Davis is also very friendly and helpful to every one, especially the freshman, giving them great experiences. Even when I switched my major to Marketing I asked for advice from Rick and he was very insightful. Rick Davis is the kind of teacher that reflects on the school in a positive way and letting him go would only hurt Husson.

Rick is a fantastic teacher. I had him for Introduction to Video in the spring 2015 semester. He was incredibly helpful, understanding, and approachable. I think the school's making a big mistake letting him go.

If you need to find a reason for Rick to stay at school, then you clearly haven't met him. He fights hard for his students, cares about them more than any educator I know, and has helped inspire students in all fields of study become informed and passionate about video arts. Just ask one of 60 kids that he teachers each semester, for the past four years. He is the first teacher Nescom video production majors interact with, and it's for good reason... He's a great educator who deserves to stay after all that he's sacrificed, and he has helped us all!

Rick Davis has had one of the biggest impacts on my life. The way he conducted his intro to video class completely changed my life. Prior to this class I was an audio major, I was certain that this was my path in life because it’s what I knew best. I didn’t dare explore any other options,
you could say it was the "comfortable" decision. However, on day one when I stepped into Rick Davis’s class everything changed. Whether it was from his passion for what he does or his infectious enthusiasm or combination of the two, Rick Davis introduced my eyes to the world of video. Never before had I felt A burning passion to want to learn more about something. Davis’s genuine love for what he does overflowed with what I can only describe as the perfect teaching style. Every class was engaging and packed full of new information that I found myself falling in love with. His ability to break things down into realistic explanations set him apart from any other professor I had in the past. It didn’t take me very long to realize I was finding my true passion. His teachings, and encouraging personality, allowed me to develop the confidence to leave what was comfortable and to truly chase after this new passion of mine. Making the change to video has been one of the most fulfilling and awarding decisions I have had the privilege of making, it was without a doubt in my mind the second best decision I’ve ever made for myself (first being, loving God). So to those reading this, whoever you may be,or wherever you may be in life. I challenge you to take a minute and think about the one person in your life that gave you confidence to do something that you never knew you had within you. Think about all the steppingstones that led you to where you are now, think about how all these steps can be all derived from this one person. Now stop, think, what if that person was never there? Would your journey be twice as long with twice as many hurtles?Or perhaps, would you even be where you are today

I don't even know if Rick remembers who I am, but he was one of my first professors back when I was a video student. I may have switched out of the video program but that had absolutely nothing to do with him or any of my other video professors. Rick help shape who I am as a student and as a person starting off adulthood. I'd be so sad to see him go and I'd be even more sad for the future students who would miss out on his guidance in their first years of college.

I had Rick Davis as an instructor in Intro to Video. He fueled my passion for video and audio for video and I went on to take more video classes because of him. He is a great instructor. Always helping and conveying the information we needed in a smart understandable way. This is truly someone we do not want to lose at NEScom.

Rick is a great professor. I would be extremely displeased if he was suddenly displaced due to budget cuts. I remember that he would take the time help me out whenever if he saw me working on a project or something. I always looked forward to his class because he did all the things a good teacher should do. He caused me to be intrigued. He made me want to put in the effort. He wanted to explore and expand my knowledge instead of simply doing what was required of me. I really hope he stays because it would be a disservice to future NESCom students if they do not get the chance to meet and work with Rick.

I've heard so many great things about Rick. He's been my roommate's adviser for two years now and he's helped her in so many ways. He's obviously someone who's great at what he does, loves teaching and takes the time to help his students not only with school work but with personal issues as well. We want Rick to stay and we need more professors like him!
