Coach V is not only an amazing softball coach, but an amazing person. She has helped me as well as every other athlete she coaches improve on and off the field. She truly cares about the well being of others and is always there to help us in any way she can. I was very upset to hear that she was let go as the WP softball assistant coach.

I played for Coach V in field hockey in 2003 and thought she was great for the girls and the team. I hope she stays at WPU in any aspect she can. She is a wonderful asset to the program.

I truly believe coach V made me into not only the player I am today but the coach I aspire to be for the team I coach for. She motivates and inspires to push ourselves to new limits every day. I don't know where I would have been in my softball career without her.

Coach V was the one who helped sway my decision on choosing WP, and for her I am more than thankful for everything that came with that choice. It is horrible to know V has given everything she has towards us girls and the whole softball program, to be turned away like this. Very poor decision.

I expressed how I felt in a LONG email to Sabrina about Vanessa being let go. She is the greatest coach a player could ask for and like everyone said WPUSB successes will be negatively impacted. It is such a shame that Coach is also getting rid of our motto OneHeartBeat after she let go of Vanessa simply because it was hers. She's making her own new motto and getting rid of so many traditions that we all share memories of.... Such a shame....

This is so unfortunate. Although I only played two seasons with WPU coach V was easily the greatest coach I ever had during my career. Her knowledge and dedication towards the game and WPU itself is astounding and not only did she teach me so much about softball and the game itself she was adamant about installing self worth and the importance of being part of a team and becoming a second family. (which we most definitely were)
I will never forget all of the lessons she had taught me on and off the field. Not hiring her back will be the program's biggest mistake. #oneheartbeat

Coach V was one of the best coaches and biggest influences on my daughter and her teammates can not believe she was not asked back for next year what a mistake for William Paterson softball.

To say I'm shocked about Coach V being let go is an understatement. As a former player and now as a head coach of a local high school I aspire to be 1/2 the coach "V" was to me. She is more than just a coach. She serves as a role model and true inspiration for all past and present members of the WPUSB team. I hope someone reconsiders the decision to let Coach V go because if she goes so does the heart and soul of the program.

This news is heartbreaking and so disappointing!!! Coach Vanessa is the heart and soul of WPU softball. She sets the tone of the program with positive chemistry and brings players together both new and old to build a family not just a team. Coach V has impacted the lives of so many people and unfortunately WPU athletics has made a decision that will damage the future of the program. As an alumni, I am so saddened to see an amazing coach be let go and I am sorry that future players will not have the opportunity to learn from an amazing person and role model. I can only hope that WPU recognizes this mistake and takes action to make it right again.

Vanessa Lenoir was an amazing coach, the perfect addition to the WP program and a remarkable women for young college athletes to look up to. It is a shame she was let go and it will forever change the WP softball program.
