After an unsucessful application in 2019 and two AAR exploratory sessions in 2020 and 2021, we want to apply for a program unit within the American Academy of Religion on "Videogaming and Religion."

We would like to get your support for this application. If you could sign this petition of support by Dec 12th, we would greatly appreciate it.

I've done considerable research here and it deserves significant attention. The practices are already happening and the theoretical work needs to be done.

The exploratory sessions have been a really important space for pushing the theoretical and methodological boundaries of this exciting new research field. The research area is innovative, multidisciplinary, has considerable public impact and attracts global interest. We need this space to continue!

The panels and exploratory sessions so far revealed the necessity to engage with videogaming and religion. An AAR program unit would be the best place to do that!
