All signatures on this petition go towards starting an E-Sports at Taylor County High School. E-Sports are defined as a term for organized multiplayer video game competitions, particularly between professional players. This can entail sports games like 2K, Madden, NCAA, Fifa, etc. or FPS like Call of Duty, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Halo, etc. or Top-down/RPG games like League of Legends and DOTA 2. E-Sports tournament winners can get upwards of multiple thousands of dollars, and everything to compete is supplied by the host of tournament. All we need at the school are computers/consoles capable of running our games at a suitable speed. We would like E-Sports at TCHS because many colleges have E-Sports teams, and some give Scholarships for it. For example, Harvard, MIT, and UCLA have teams, and Pikeville and RMU offer scholarships. Thus, I believe we should begin a program at our school to open the gates to these opportunities, such as money for the school and scholarships. I hope that you will consider this proposition respectfully and possibly allow this to happen. Thank you.
Finally!! My brother is actually really good at cod and this could help him get into college. Its about time schools started seeing gaming as the real sport it is.
