We are ready and waiting for the County to impress us with a well-written Ordinance that is: practical; sensible; fair to all; user-friendly; easily achievable; uniting for our communities by being supportive of homeowners yet protective of neighbors by clearly defining enforcement procedures and penalties to managers/owners for repeated bad guest behaviors; rewarding to our County treasury and local economy by not placing daily, weekly or monthly night limits on short term vacation rental stays; and is an overall win-win ordinance for everyone involved.

There is no compelling reason to not allow Monterey County house owners to rent their houses for periods of time shorter than 30 days. The county should not take that right away from me, as a Monterey County property owner. Sincerely, Ronald Naymark, 2405 San Antonio Ave., Carmel

a well structured, well regulated vacation rental industry will benefit our community, and help stop the "underground" rental practices that cause the majority of complaints and problems in our residential neighborhoods.

I have lived in Monterey County since 1968 and believe a short term rental policy will benefit the area and attract more tourists who will spend their money here.

Please support shorter stays in vacation homes, like Pacific Grove does. My family always uses vacation rental homes for our long weekend stays; we do not use hotels.

As an owner of a home in the coastal zone (Carmel) I am fully supportive of a fair and reasonable ordinance that permits me and similarly positioned homeowners to rent our homes on a short term basis This will add a boost to the economy with little negative impact

Our guests love our retreat-like suite, walking distance to Monterey beaches and restaurants. Longest stay is 6 days, most stay 1 or 2 nights and love the comfort. They eat out and enjoy our coast and certainly are a part of the tourist economy, but seek out a home-stay destination.

All of my families vacations memories are in the Monterey County area from Pacific Grove to Carmel Valley. It would be a shame to limit this for the people of this area.

Vacation rentals provide enormous value to our tourist economy and to the sense of welcome that Monterey County offers to its visitors. People who want to stay in vacation rentals are looking for a home experience where they can control their own environment, their food preparation, and their sense of being a part of the community. They often choose a vacation rental because it is economically more feasible for them, but they certainly bring a lot of dollars to the many attractions that Monterey County offers too. Reducing or eliminating the capacity for home owners to offer their homes to visitors in our area is completely counter productive! Why would Monterey County want to deprive itself of such a valuable enterprise? Not to mention that each owner is a good will ambassador to our county!

Please Board of Supervisors approve a vacation rental ordinance for Monterey County. The vacation rental industry generates sales tax and transient occupancy tax for the community while not requiring great demands on County services.
