My kids won’t be in school no matter what is decided. I will homeschool if distance learning is not offered. You are playing politics with precious children’s lives and it is disgusting! You cannot say no children have died from Covid. It’s been in the news. If one child dies, it’s too many!

If Somerville Massachusetts and North Carolina can do this, why can we not? Distance learning is the only safe way. Even with all the safety measures, the amount of children in a classroom alone implies greater risk. These children deserve the safety every rich person can afford. If the presidents son will not be returning to school, why should our children? If the president cancelled a meeting in Florida due to the high risk, why do the children not have this option. Status in society? I think the hypocrisy is insulting. So many of us have really stayed home since March, and are doing our part to stop the spread. Not taking our children to any stores or parks, or events at all. We are trying to protect them, schools reopening is like taking all this sacrifice in vein. We are not asking for this to be permanent, but we are asking for a temporary continuation of Distance Learning until there is a vaccine and viable treatments.

While children may not have severe symptoms, what about other family members? I have a newborn at home, and my middle child is high risk with health issues... I don’t feel comfortable sending my oldest back to school with the chance of her TAKING HOME THE VIRUS. My oldest brought home the flu (yes we had our flu shots but I guess they weren’t effective) and 4 colds last year, so if covid was present in her school: she WOULD take it home.

I agree with this. What also happens to us who have people at home who are high risk ? I would have to keep my son away from his grandparents that he sees on a daily basis because they live downstairs and we give my mom a.ride to work everyday. Keep distant learning until there's a vaccine. Don't put kids, teachers ,bus drivers , school workers and everyone else lives and family life's at risk

Too many kids, too little space, a little risk is too much risk! Keep us all safe!

Every member of my family is at risk if we begin the year in school buildings. We will be dealing with three school districts and four school buildings ranging from k-12. This level of risk is completely unacceptable.

Kids are not guinea pigs. Let’s not experiment with them. In 2019, it might snow a few inches. No school it doesn’t snow! In 2020, global pandemic. People dying from virus. Get to school! Something is wrong!!!!

We cannot safety resume in person school until testing is faster. Right now it is 10 business days. How can our children and staff be kept safe if it takes weeks before they even know there is an issue?
