Teachers and children should not be asked to 'take one for the team' to get the economy going. No vaccine = no school.

If we go back to school, we may not only be exposing ourselves to the virus but also our family members. That means that I will no longer be able to visit my 87 year old mother, host or even participate in our holiday meals with my family. My mother and I just recently became widows within 4 months of each other. Our family can't bear to lose another life anytime soon.

Schools can not reopen safely without careful planning and scientific evidence that it is safe to reopen.

Interesting how the six feet of distance was cut in half (but only for schools). How convenient.

My son will not be risking his or our lives going back especially when he thrives at home during DL!

As a teacher with medical issues and a newborn at home, I do not feel safe returning to schools. We closed in March to contain the spread and keep everyone safe safe. To go back now would undo this. Schools are Petri dishes because of the close proximity to others, poor ventilation, and poor hygiene habits of young students. Distance learning was tough, but it is safer to continue with this method until cases have dropped significantly or we have a vaccine.
