I hope that the Irish Government don't drag their feet on this. It makes me ashamed to be irish and human when fellow men and women treat others with so much disregard for their basic human rights. Time to turn this around, together.

Traveller ethnicity is a fact and must be recognised as such by the Irish state. State racism and discrimination against Travellers is an injustice that cries out for remedy. The Irish state should apologise for it's prejudice, discrimination and brutality against Travellers, recognise Traveller ethnicity and make fitting reparations to the Traveller community.

this is the last acceptable form of racism in this country it appalling to think eastern europeans and homosexuals have a protection against there belief yet, the government does not see anything in the lines of drawing up a bill of equality for travellers it a disgrace. As a full blooded Irish citizen i am ashamed to call this land equal and right let alone home!!

About time settled people and government accepted some responsibility for the enormous social, political and economic wrongs and crimes committed against Travellers.

I'm Australian and our govt. finally issued an apology to our Indigenous Australians and it was a great healing for many. Surely Ireland can do same for the Travellers.
