Natural justice long overdue given the open history of discrimination against travelers across Ireland and the British Isles.

This would be signed off faster (in every sense of the term) if the formal recognition part came first.

Just one small quibble: the SWP is very supportive of travellers, as we are of all people/s who are being or have been unfairly treated.

Couldn't have phrased that better myself. We are an ethnic minority and are entitled to our status and rights. The sooner that happens the better our struggle through discrimination will get.

We, the Irish Travellers, natives of our beautiful country, Ireland, call on our politicians and political parties to issues a formal apology to us, the Irish Travellers, in the name of justice, equality and diversity.
We have for generations stood, and continue to stand, in the face of injustice, discrimination, dehumanisation and racism.
Without any hatred or contempt, we request that our Irish government issues this apology to us, along with formally recognising our unique identity as a distinct minority ethnic group in Irish society.

I am learning that history has changed nothing for us. And it's about time we had human rights. This applies across the UK

American-born Scottish Traveller (maiden name Robertson)...my husband and I are filing a civil rights lawsuit and self-publishing a book, Nomadic Proud, about our fight with San Francisco City Hall to maintain our self-identity as a Traveller family. What Government does to the nomadic worldwide and historically is a genocide. It's time we all stand in solidarity for one another. We are organizing @ www. gypsybookshop.com
