To: Commissioners of the Parole Board

We are the friends and family of Kevin Zimmerman, and concerned tax paying citizens. We are signing this petition advocating for the release of Kevin Zimmerman. The Parole Board had denied Kevin Zimmerman's release two years ago, and now he is scheduled to reappear for release consideration in June of 2020.

Kevin Zimmerman, currently 44 years of age, has been in prison his entire adult life. Those of us who have been by his side, supported him and continue to support him, we are very much aware that Kevin Zimmerman has taken the necessary steps to distance himself from the behavior that precipitated the awful crime he committed during his youth. His sincere remorse and desire to redeem himself makes us believe in the value of second chances

We are very much aware of Kevin Zimmerman's maturity, his consistent values, patience, kindness, humor, positive attitude, compassion, consideration, for others and his positive institutional record. He continues to demonstrate a high level of rehabilitation.

Moreover, Kevin Zimmerman has a viable release plan, housing, he is employable, community ready, no threat to society and with the full support of family and friends, which under such circumstances we believe that he will most likely never committ another crime. Furthermore, because we belive he has undergone the kind of transformation that we are proud of and society would want and expect of him. Because of this we also believe Kevin Zimmermans release is compatible with the welfare of society and will not deprecate the seriousness of the crime or undermine respect for the law. Ergo, we ask that you send Kevin Zimmerman home to live out the rest of his life with his family and friends and go on to become a productive member of society.

We appreciate your time and consideration. May God be with you when you render your decision.

Sincerley yours,

The family and friends of Kevin Zimmerman
