Losing the MotoGP was heartbreaking. We need something to "replace" it and preferably something that is owned and operated locally so that decisions are made in the Island's best interests and cannot be taken away.
I think with some good ideas and professional planning it should be an extremely successful event. A good example of this was the 25 odd years of "The classic motorcycle event" run over the Australia Day weekend. Which was lost during COVID . and also lost a little bit of its shine after the passing of Ken (Wobbler) Wooton.
Competitors and specatators all love the Philip Island track. A significant event like this could be tied into the F1 date for Melbourne and attract intrernational interest.
I would support the type of events that have been proposed & we do attend many similar type of events around the country but as many others might agree the cost of accommodation & other services needs to be reasonable.
I would attend The Swap Meet to sell as long as the sites were similar size & cost as all the Victorian Swaps are. I sell Vintage Collectables for mancaves & great character outdoor areas. The Swaps & Show & Shines events not to clash with others if possible. Regards Rob.
Phillip Island has an iconic race track and proven ability to have the resources and hospitality to host large events. Festivals bring people together with a community spirit

I wish to emphasise my support for this proposal. Not only for participants, attendees & the general motoring enthusiasts; this event will provide critical support for the local community, which I believe is more vital than ever in the region, especially after the withdrawal of the MotoGP
