The inaugural show choir, The Conglomeration, changed my life. Shelley and Kent Johnson have carried on the legacy, showcasing our DeKalb youth's talent. They have surpassed all expectations dedicating their lives to our DeKalb kids. Shelley's family has even been heavily involved in the effort of creating costumes and props and more. If anything, Shelley deserves accolades and tributes as she prepared to wind down her tenure; not disrespect from her superiors as this administration is directly expressing through this unexpected and extreme action. It is truly shameful. Those of us who are associated to the history of the joyful noise that has echoed in the halls of DeKalb Central and far beyond, along with the pride, we are totally embarrassed and stunned by this action! I hope that you will reconsider this decision and prepare to host a parade in her honor! Because, THAT is what she deserves!

I love these two!! They have been devoted to the music program for as long as I have known them!! I have seen the influence they had, through the successful careers in music!!

I support Kent and Shelley Johnson, this is absolute bull! They have dedicated their lives to Dhs, and this is what they get for it? Think about this one more time and make the right choice. Everybody in the show choir community looks up to both of them, they're great role models and great teachers.

DHS Class of 82. Lets take an award winning teacher with an award winning program for 25 years and throw it away. The administration needs to resign and Shelly needs reinstated. How embarrassing for the school, community and alumni.

As a producer of the largest competition series in the nation, I can attest to the excellence of the Dekalb program under the direction of Shelley and Kent Johnson. It would be a shame to see these two caring individuals who have poured the last 34 years of their lives into this program be treated the way that has been reported.
