We Support Shelley and Kent Johnson

Does the Principle want total control. They moved Shelley for all the Wrong Reasons.

We are all voters and taxpayers. I guess some have forgotten the power of the voter. Let's just forget them at the polls when it is time to vote.

The best couple I know! I got to know Shelley inin 1993 when my daughter was a freshman and I was on the DeKalb Music Association Board. I wa on that Board because my daughter was in Colorguard. She also was in a play or two that Shelley and Kent directed and produced. While my daughter’s contact with them was minimal it made a big impact on her as to their dedication to youth of DeKalb County. Kent is the pianist at our Church, and Kent Directs the singing as well as being very involved in the church’s programs...Love these two beyond belief for their morals, dedication, and determination. WE ARE BETTER PEOPLEJUST KNOWING YOU. Thank you for all the life long contributions and sacrifices you have made to our children and Your CHURCH FAMILY...LOVE YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU.

I have family that has been under their direction and have watched perform. They have not only been great shows but have brought confidence to them and been great role models.

Kent and Shelley Johnson are amazing educators, role models, mentors, people, and friends!

DHS show choir is known and revered throughout the Midwest in large part to these to wonderful people. I recommend the immediate resignation of any and all persons involved in making this horrible decision.

They do an amazing job for my daughter!

Shelley was one of the best teachers I had at Dekalb. She truly helped mentor several students in the 4 years I was in her choir. Shelley truly cared and she wasn't afraid to let you know if you were screwing up but she also knew just how to push you to succeed in doing so. Removing her and Kent would be a mistake. You don't fire your head QB especially when it's winning the game. And to my knowledge Shelley has been exceptional at taking the school to state. Are you sure Dekalb can handle being mediocre with limited experiences to offer?

The Johnsons are a staple of DeKalb schools and the community. This treatment of them is a sham and a personal vendetta from the principal. Save Kent and Shelley!!!

This is outrageous. If it wasn't for Shelley and the Show Choir I would have dropped out of his school but it gave me a reason to get up and go to school. Reinstate her back into the Show Choir.

The injustice being done to the Johnsons by the school administration must be stopped!

School administration and local paper totally dropped the ball on this one. Whatever reasons for the changes, Shelley and Kent deserved better treatment. First word should have been an official announcement from the school, not Facebook rumors splashed across the front page.

Wouldn't be where I am today without the support and guidance of Kent and Shelley.

For nearly 30 years I have been inspired by your devotion to and enthusiasm for "all things Show Choir"! Thank you and please know you are dearly loved!!!

These two wonderful people have done so much for so many kids for so many years it is almost indescribable. One of the Dr many kids is my very own daughter. The show Choir a d the musical programs were a life changing experience for my daughter from the moment she met Kent & Shelley as a middle schooler. To take the programs away from tese two amazing people would be a total shame and such a huge loss to the kids yet to experience what Kent & Shelley has built the musical department into over so many great and successfull years.

I support the Johnson's!! They are amazing people who deserve so much better than this kind of treatment. I would be very nervous if I was a school board member whose seat is up for renewel. Lots and lots of voters will be using that right to get rid of those who backed this decision.

This is truly an awful mistake from the school system. These two amazing individuals have shaped me into the person I am today. They gave me a family and a home away from home and got me involved. I have always have a great love for music and they gave me the chance to be a part of a family who all share a love for music. They helped me embrace myself learn who I am and discover my passions which led me to a lifetime career that I love. And I am not the only person that they have impacted whether it be their fellow associates alumni current students friends family and the community as a whole. These two individuals should be the last people to be removed from DeKalb high school. Removing the people who built a state and nationally competeing and successful program from one of the VERY few successful programs at DeKalb is just plain stupidity. Maybe the administration and school board should look around among them and open their eyes to see the real problem here.
