A big mistake is being made at Dekalb high. I can’t imagine anyone coming in to try and take there place.

Showchoir and theater helped me get through high school and led to friendships that I will always remember.

They are amazing teachers and have a right to be there just like everyone else. Maybe even more.

I support my choir director and theatre director. They don’t deserve what is happening. I want justice!

Show choir is too important to our school for Kent and Shelley to be taken away

They have influenced me to do great things in this world and I can’t imagine what Dekalb show choirs will be without them

Shelly and Kent should cont. their legacy with DeKalb Show Choir! This makes absolutely no sense!

Shelley Johnson teaches so much more than music to her students. She is also someone other educators across the country admire and try to emulate. What a true loss and disservice for the students of Dekalb.

I am a high school choral director in Ohio and have know Shelley for my entire teaching career. Shelley Johnson and DeKalb Classic Connection are a part of the reason I am teaching today! She’s an icon and an inspiration to many!

I wasn’t even in a choir or theater production ever but Kent and Shelly touched my life. Even as a teenager I could see how much time, talent, and energy was given to DeKalb High School. Their countless hours of volunteering were completely selfless. They have had a very sucessful and self funded show choir for 35 years. I pray the superintendent changes his mind when he realizes the absolute horrible decision he’s made.

My kids are not Dekalb students, but as a community this whole thing just saddens me. Who's thinking of the kids? Shame Shame. I will be praying for all.

I owe my love for the arts and passion for storytelling to them.

I’m a sophomore at DHS currently in Classic Connection. What has happened is absolutely disgusting. The lives that she has impacted is so high and I’m scared for the next generations where they won’t have shelly and Kent to impact their lives.

Without their program and support my high school days would not have been a positive experience. These two give the students and the community their all. Dekalb administration needs to rethink their decision on this.

I didn't even participate in choir or show choir but it was so obvious the dedication, caring, commitment and love these 2 had for the program and students.
