Shelley & Kent are remarkable educators and have spent decades positively impacting the lives of thousands of high school students and the community. They pushed me to be a better musician and person. They encouraged me when my path changed. There are few educators in my entire 22 years of schooling who had as deep of an impact as these two. They deserve to be heard and respected by their community.

Shelley and Kent's influence carries far beyond Auburn. The legacy of this couple extends throughout the country in their immeasurable contributions to generations. Although I was only in show choir for 2 years Kent and Shelley made a large impact on my life. They taught me to never give up even when it feels like there is nothing left to do. They do not deserve to be treated like this after everything they have done for Dekalb.

If this is a funding issue - how’s about you address that and let the community support the program. Seems quite apparent that any money issue could be solved. This is so obvious that funding must not be the driving force.

My role models, and my inspiration should not be thrown away like this. Classic connection changes lives and shapes who we as students become. More than any other teacher, principal, or administration ever has or ever will.

Thank you for being such good roll models to so many students. Your love for the kids and Show Choir was very obvious. You have changed alot of peoples lives in all that you guys done. My niece Clarissa was in your Show Choir and Loved you both, And you guys gave her passion for Show Choir. I have nothing but good memories going to your Show Choir Shows, Always Amazing. You both should be very proud, Hate to see you both go, its just not right.

This program has been around since I was in school...at East Noble, what Kent & Shelly have done for not only that school and its student body but that entire community is priceless. For some new admin to stroll in and want to change things up and get rid of what those 2 have built over 25-30 years is beyond ridiculous. I hope the people of that community use their voice to put a stop to whatever is going on!

Shelley and Kent are amazing people and so dedicated to the students. When are school systems going to realize that the arts are an important part of life and EVERY student should have exposure to the arts just as much as math and science.

Kent and Shelley are beyong inspirations!! They are the life of that school and community. The lives of the students they touched and continue to touch need to be the center of attention here!!! I am deeply saddened that future students will not ger the opportunity to be inspired amd grow as young adults through them! This decision needs to be changed!

Look at what this program has accomplished!! All because of Shelly and Kent. What a shame. DeKalb Central has always been about sports and gives little acknowledgement elsewhere. I know - personally lived it and my daughter did as well. And if the rumors of the high school principal "having conflict and not liking her" have any truth that makes matters even worse. But yet it wouldn't surprise me. DeKalb administration has always been about who "they" like and the "buddy system"!!!

Both the Johnson's have made such an impact in my daughter's life! She has evolved in just a short amount of time in the show choir, made many new friends, has pushed herself outside her comfort zones, and has blossomed. The program will never be the same!

Shelley and Kent have been like another family to me. Their passion and inspiration is truly heartwarming. Their leadership and guidance for the past four years of my life has made this time one of the best in my life. It's insane, unfair, and utter lunacy to destroy in one day a program they have personally built for 35 years.
