Shelley and Kent have done a wonderful job, and don't deserve to be treated like this.

Nobody deserves to not be able to do what they love. Shelley and Kent are two amazing who spread love and positivity to not only Dekalb but all of the Midwest. From NHS Charisma + Allure, we love you two!

Kent and Shelley are once in a lifetime people. Their impact on all they encounter is immeasurable. Our community has been blessed by their leadership, dedication, talent, and love. Let's stand tall for them, as we know they would for us. Much love from the Hoff's.

DCCS is doing its students such a disservice. I have never seen two people care so much for their students than I have in Kent and Shelley.

I have seen so many of Kent & Shelley’s students go on and become these successful leaders and attribute their success to them, and the performing arts programs offered at DeKalb that influenced them at the age that they needed to be influenced. Kent & Shelley have offered so much more to their students than singing and dancing during high school, they offer lifelong friendships, leadership, acceptance, and most importantly the confidence to succeed and not give up.

This “crazy” needs to stop. Shelley and Kent have done so much for my own children. Their support and acceptance meant the world to me as a parent through those tough teen years. I always knew my kids were safe, but mostly HAPPY!

My daughters and granddaughter have blossoms under Kent and Shelly’s leadership. They learned much more than music. Shelley pushed the kids to grow and challenge themselves, to be all that they can be. Life skills! Self-confidence, leadership, teamwork, public speaking, presentation skills (the list goes on) are all learned by being under Ken and Shelly’s tutelage. It saddens me to think DeKalb high school will lose such valuable leader.

These two amazing people represent the positive influence that is so needed in our decaying society . Why would DeKalb school system take these two away from the kids who need them ? We stand with Shelly and Kent ! The amount of volunteers they have recruited over the years has been staggering. Shelly's own parents volunteered with thousands of hours of sewing costumes and making stage props , building and transporting equipment . Taking entire classes to New York and Florida . They had such a positive influence on my daughter Ashley Loomis . Ashley went from a girl that was more than content to sing and dance in the back row as a Freshman to Front and center as a Senior. So much greatness has come from the positive influence that Shelly and Kent Johnson has shared with our kids .
This is how you reward these amazing people for their extraordinary efforts Dekalb High School ??? I think you will be having a very hard time finding any teachers who actually care about going above and beyond if this is how they will be rewarded . Our country needs a million more Shelly and Kent's, not one less .
DeKalb High School administrators should be ashamed of them selves . Reverse the worst decision that you will ever make before it is to late !!!

These are the greatest people to ever come through DeKalb. I can't believe this is happening.

This bad decision needs to be reversed for all of the young adult who need Shelley but just don’t know it yet!
What a mistake
You taught me to believe in myself and gave me some of the best memories of my life. Thank you ❤️
