You made Kristina Sims the ridiculously awesome person she is now, and for that, I am deeply grateful of both of you.

It is wrong to remove these two valuable teachers from Dekalb because of the antics of a couple of Student,s who obviously do not know how to behave themselves so because their Parent's are upset that their Children should be held responsible for theor own actions and chose to not follow the rules that dozens of other Children did follow 2 qualified and well loved Teachers have to lose their positions........I think the School Board members need to lose their positions ! ! ! !

She has made DeKalb high school a noteworthy music program. She has influenced the lives of so many students and members of the community. I am a first year teacher in Illinois, but I will never forget the impact I’ve had from seeing DeKalb perform over the last few years. She leads the program with passion, dedication and love for her students and music.

So very sad to hear this news. I know how much of an impact the DeKalb Choir Program (CONGLOMERATION) had on me back in 1979, so I know the impact the program has had on all who are affected by this news. I have read MANY of the comments and posts about all this and don't know even half of you, but feel emotional because of your pain. PRAYERS UP FOR SHELLEY AND KENT AND FOR YOU ALL, as you try to make sense of this mess that the "ADMINISTRATION" of the DeKalb County School District created. I'm so sorry for you all and will continue to keep you all and Kent and Shelley in my thoughts and prayers.

Shelley is someone I looked to as a strong female educator in my years as a young show choir director. So sad to hear of DeKalb's decision and I'm hopeful that this petition, bearing names from around the country, may help the board to reconsider!

Shelly and Kent have dedicated their lives to DeKalb Students and Families. Shelly instilled confidence in me that has helped make me confident to be a national advocate for education and students. The Johnson's have always held up the most respect and high morals for students they served. This decision the district has made is horrendous and uncalled for.
