We support Aaron Morgan, Dulles Elementary School Teacher - Protecting Children at the School House

You have entrusted this teacher with the care of the students, and he clearly took this responsibility seriously. He should be rewarded for this. The response from the school district " we do not condone employees using any physical means to stop a vehicle." - Maybe you don't encourage it for safety of your staff, but you should certainly condone it, if it keeps the children safe from someone who was clearly intent on breaking the safety rules.

I wish more teachers were like him!!

Too many parents endanger other people's children when they drive around the cones and circumvent the safety measures that create safety for all students. Aaron was protecting all students from an incredibly selfish, careless parent who thought the rules didn't apply because she was running late.

He did amazing! Exactly the type of person you want at schools protecting your children!

In fact, I'm relatively certain since she chose to share this video she should be cited for reckless driving or some such infraction considering she could've run over little children. What a spiteful horrible woman.

I,myself am studying to become an educator and feel that he did nothing wrong. As "unprofessional" as it could have seemed, he did it to potentially save others... rules are set for a reason.

This is sad that that the parent was that entitled that she doesn’t have to follow the rules.. That teacher was standing up for all of us.

I am a parent volunteer on a traffic team that serves my neighborhood public grammar school. Parents in cars repeatedly violate our protocols (as well as basic rules of the road) that are in place purely for the safety of our children. In addition, they are disrespectful to the people trying to keep children safe. I have no issue with Mr. Morgan's actions. His job is a thankless one, and I expect he deals with dozens of parents who fragrantly violate the rules, like Rita did. She was completely in the wrong, and it is she who owes that school community an apology.

You should thank him instead

As the head of my daughter's school's traffic volunteer team, I witness first hand parents endangering those around them on a daily basis simply because of being late. I fully support the teacher in this case and would have done the same thing myself had a parent so flagrantly disregarded the simple and purposeful traffic rules put on place to keep our kids safe.

Parent traffic-team helper here. The struggle is REAL. He was protecting children. If you have never done school traffic duty, I ask you to volunteer-just for 1 week...and see who’s side you are on. You are amazing! Your fellow traffic volunteers have your back!

We have similar issues with parent driving at our school. Kids will get hurt/killed if somebody doesn’t stop this selfish dangerous behavior.

I support him a 100%! I grew up with my father being a P.E. Teacher and worked his way up to principal and he protected ever child! Like it was one of his own and went above and beyond what he had to do! Just like this Teacher! The mother should be punished and not allowed back on that school property again! What if a child had gotten out and ran into the road not looking she could of hit them. You BOE need to think very carefully about the outcome of this situation. Your let the person in the 2ton Motor vehicle get away with this she will think she can get away with anything! I would hire him in a heartbeat! Bravo to him. Thank you Lord for send a man to our schools to protect our children like he does and caring for them!

Cleary Coach Young was willing to sacrifice HIS life to save the elementary students. The driver had driven around cones and ignored warnings to not drive through the elementary drop off! Coach Young didn't know the drivers intentions except that she wanted to harm students. The same state that wants teachers to carry guns to kill others, is upset this teacher risked his life for his students!

The driver was endangering the children's lives, the teacher was endangering himself to protect the children.

If teachers are there to protect students, he did EXACTLY what he was supposed to do!
