We support Aaron Morgan, Dulles Elementary School Teacher - Protecting Children at the School House

As a teacher who works morning duty our number one priority is to ensure our students make it safely into school. Often we see these parents who think rules do not apply to them, but in her rush to break the rules what if she hit a child? When your child steps onto campus they become our child and we will protect them with everything we have, including throwing our own bodies into dangerous situations to save them. If your child was in the road and a car was driving in an area it shouldn’t be and could possibly hit them wouldn’t you do everything in your power to stop them? I applaud this man for his actions and I sincerely hope the media and other news outlets do the right thing and don’t try to sensationalize this story but show it for what it is. A woman broke the rules and was detained by someone in authority trying to stop her and then she complained that she got caught.

Thank you for protecting the children! We parents always see parents like Rita acting in a selfish and destructive manner. Only when someone brave enough to stop them do they claim victim! Rita is wrong and needs to publicly apologize to this young man and some donated hours at the elementary school would probably go a long way in teaching her.

Teacher should not be fired because of the stupidity of adults who think they above the law.

Teaching is one of the hardest jobs out there. This teacher's school and children are so LUCKY to have him. If he was at my son's school, I would be running to give him a hug for what he did.

What if rita had ran over a child? That's why those cones were up and that's why he protected that area, I believe charges should be brought against rita.

The teacher did the right thing here... the parent was in the wrong! She is so entitled to think that rules, put in place for children's safety, don't apply to her because she's late? Sorry! Go wait in line with everyone else. I would be honored to have such a devoted teacher working at my child's school!

The mother should be cited for her actions. This teacher shouldn’t have put his life at risk, but he was doing it for the right reasons, the safety of children. Don’t let that entitled mom cause trouble for dedicated staff!!

No teacher should be punished for trying to safeguard their students. Rita Trimmer-Ray acted recklessly and with complete disregard for the safety of children, and her behavior should not be condoned. Punishing the teacher sends a message that she was right, and that will only perpetuate a culture of complete disregard for the safety of students. Punish Rita’s daughter for her mother’s actions.

This teacher was protecting the children. Rita was putting them in potential harm's way. Do not make him pay for her mistake.

I can’t believe that in this world wrong always gets praised and good always get shamed. Hopefully this school district hasn’t even considered punishing this exemplary teacher!
