I commend him for stopping her. His actions were only unorthodox because tje yelling, waving, and cones weren't enough to derail this entitled woman. Late or not you don't try to cut corners in life. What example are you setting? If they had let you through ma'am it would have set a dangerous precedent and the children's safety shouldn t be compromised. Accept the consequences of your tardiness and move on. Please do not punish the teacher for doing his job.

In this day you never know if it’s a late parent or a unbalanced person looking to take out kids with their car. This teacher went out of his way to protect the children under his care. If something tragic would have happened, I promise he would have been investigated for not doing more to protect the students. He should not be punished for his protective actions and I strongly encourage this parent to set a better example for her children.

Great job! He did what we all would have wanted to do and what needs to be done. Woman should have gotten a ticket at minimum.

He did the right thing protecting those kids. She is a narcissistic fame seeking pile of poo. She needs to be fined and points on her license. This is no different than passing a stopped school bus.

Rita, the late drop off mom who had to cut through an elementary school drop off to avoid the car pool line at the HS should be fined. This was an example of entitlement and endangerment on her part. This teacher however, was heroic in his efforts. He should be applauded.

She is in the wrong, and as a daughter of an preschool teacher I know that he was doing what he thought was best for the students.

She was crazy to think that the masses would agree with her when she went to the News Station.

3 of my children went to Dulles Middle School & Dulles High School. Never in my opinion have I heard such stupidity
from an adult.

Rita Trimmer-Ray selfishly disregarded several rules at several stopping points. She had the opportunity to do the right thing and turn around, but instead chose to persist in putting lives at risk. Being late is stressful - deal with it Rita. To put CHILDREN'S lives at risk because you can't be bothered with the rules is unacceptable. If Coach Young is punished the district will be making a very intentional statement that they support the tide of popular opinion, not their teachers and the procedures the teachers are trying to maintain. Coach Young, you have my support.

I would have him on my team any day. He is willing to go the extra mile to serve and protect our children. It could of been someone trying to shoot up the school or place a bomb. He did the right thing in stopping her at any means. She should be fine for trying to ride through Elementary School area that was off limits at the time.

That's a teacher that would save my kids life. She wouldn't have stopped anyways by waiving her down as evident when she blew past the first teacher... give him a raise and she should not be allowed to drive on school grounds anymore.

Thank you for protecting the children of the school from a lady who apparently feels she doesn't have to follow the rules just because she is late dropping her child off.

As a parent of an elementary school student, i applaud this teacher for caring enough to take action. This mom was only worried about her high schooler being later and not the safety of all the other children around her.
