He did the right thing. I’ve seen the same behavior done by parents at our school, thinking they are special and rules doesn’t apply to them!!

This man was protecting the children in his charge. The mother was the one who acted as if the rules don't apply to her and the safety of those children don't matter. RIDICULOUS. This man should be teacher of the year.

He acted on the behalf of the safety of the children . The parent was WRONG . Had she not persisted on driving through a blocked off area this would not have happened . Hats off to your bravery and showing folks what a real man is willing to do .

I find it shameful that the news portrayed this gentleman as bad... good for him for watching out for elementary children. If anyone should be reprimanded it should be Rita for thinking her being late somehow constituted she could break rules and put small children in danger.

There is no excuse for a parent ignoring the rules...this is absolutely a safety issue. Cones are there for a reason as well as the staff clearly telling you no you can’t go that way but yet the parent continued to proceed anyways because she was running late....are you kidding me??!! Poor excuse. Kuddos to the teacher for stepping in and doing what he thought was necessary to insure the safety of the children. Rules are in place for a reason.

I’m a graduate of Dulles High School and I support this teacher’s actions 100%. As a mom to 3 kids, I’ve seen the ridiculous behavior of parents in drop off and pick up lines over the years. This teacher should be thanked for protecting the children at Dulles Elementary.

Now maybe jumping on the car wasn't the thing to do but his job was to teach and asked to protect. Who knows what was going through his mind at the time. Maybe it could have been somthing more than a woman being late to drop off her kid. He was protecting his school and kids. Good Job teacher. We need more of you who care greatly for your students.
