I would have done the exact same thing to protect the students on my campus. He did what we keep telling you we will always do, he protected the kids.

Let’s support teachers who are trying to enforce the rules and doing the right thing. The parent set a terrible example for the child in the vehicle-saying Rules don’t apply to them. You should be rewarding this teacher for a job well-done.

This is the type of teacher parents HOPE their children have in their lives. Punishing him is another victory for rule breaking parents and another defeat for the lose that invest in and honor our children!

This man is a hero. Rita is a psycho and I hope she was fined and cited. She was in complete violation and put many people in children in harm's way.

The parent was endangering students and adults in the elementary car line. We recently had a parent who was walking their child through the parking lot bumped by a car who cut cones. The car took off. Police were called and thank God no one was hurt. The teacher risked everything to ensure the students were safe! The fact the parent was running late does not give her the right to disregard rules and put peoples’ lives in jeopardy! I support Coach Young!

We need more teachers like this willing to protecting our kids at any cost. Where are the consequences for the driver?

As a school bus driver in Chattanooga TN, I've seen my fair share of tragedy. This man should be commended for his dedication to the children he serves.

This teacher should be applauded for his efforts. I imagine when he chose to be an educator for our children, he was not signing up for traffic control. As a mother of students at both DMS and DHS, I routinely witness drivers who do not believe they must adhere to traffic guidelines in place for the safety of our children. How many tragedies must occur before the right people are held accountable for their egregious behavior?

This teacher did nothing wrong. The mother was in the wrong and should not be treated like a victim. Shame on her!

This teacher did the right thing. I cannot believe the nerve of this mother acting like she was wronged. He absolutely should not be disciplined for his actions.

Since when is it ok to punish an employee for enforcing your own establishments safety rules?! Where are the repercussions for this lady for breaking the rules YOU put in place?! This man is passionate about his job, his students, his colleagues. Give him a damn raise & support his decision to put his own life on the line to keep the morning drop off a safe place for the kids. Isn’t that WHY you put him out there? If not then what the heck are your employees or any adults doing out there while the kids are being dropped off? SMH! Do the right thing & punish the CORRECT person in this situation - that ignorant woman who felt the rules just didn’t apply to her because it was inconvenient to her morning.
