This teacher was protecting the kids. What this woman was doing because she was running late was unacceptable. “Going around cones” that are there for a reason???? Really???

The lady drove into an area the wrong way, clearly putting kids at risk. This teacher protected his charges.

As a teacher [in another Texas ISD] and a parent, from what has been released to the media, I see Mr. Morgan's actions as a desperate attempt to protect children. I wish the parent involved could see beyond what her immediate needs were and understand how her actions could have easily become a tragedy. What that parent fails to realize is at that moment, Mr. Morgan may not have known if the car truly was just trying get to where the secondary student needed to be in order to get to school on time, or if the driver of the car was trying to deliberately get through for a sinister reason. These days, there really is no way of telling. People often talk about "taking a bullet" or otherwise sacrificing themselves, but Mr. Morgan showed he'd be willing to put his life in danger for the children of his school.

I taught for 27 years and had car duty. This PE teacher was upholding the law. The lady was breaking the law! She should be punished-not the teacher!

He did what we all hope we’d do in the heat of the moment, and that is protect the children. Good job sir—I’d be honored to teach with you any day. #teacherstrong

Bravo to Coach Young for protecting the children's safety. The mother brought this negative attention to the school district. What kind of example is she showing to her daughter to cut in line? Parents who show their children to disobey rules will raise children to disobey rules. What a shame. This coach should be praised for what he has done.

I am a former educator and have seen first hand what can happen when parents are entitled and feel like they do not have to follow the rules if it's inconvenient. She is not a victim. She saw the cones. She saw the teacher waving her off and telling her no. Her agenda was more important than the law and the children being protected by it. Do not give any negative discipline to this teacher. If anything, she should have consequences for driving into that area.

This man was protecting our children and should be praised, not punished. The entitled mother who is teaching her high school daughter how to disrespect authority, and also that rules don’t apply to her, needs to be ticketed. Don’t let this man down, prosecute the woman, not him. What if this woman would have been a but axe coming to harm our children? He did the right thing, not do the right thing for him and defend this man, not persecute him.

He was doing his job. The woman was cutting through illegally and could have hit a child. She should have received a citation.

While I understand jumping on the car seems excessive , the safety of pedestrians is worth it. We all have seen parents not willing to take the consequences of being late and they just take the bus line, double line, speed in school zone, oposite line, etc. We have to understand that NO ONE is above the rules particularly when they are safety rules. I have seen them trying to pass even when a police officer is asking them not to. Please do not penalized this teacher for his desperate attempt to prevent an accident, we have had enought this year :-(

I volunteer in carpool at an elem school and have seen cars cut in and out putting staff and students at risk. When asked why they are breaking rules for carpool they said,” I’m in a hurry. “

This teacher did what I would expect ANY teacher to do. The cones were there for a reason. A mother felt like she was above the rules because she was running late. She was asked to stop and did not. The DRIVER was in the wrong! The teacher is a HERO!
