Mr. Morgan put his life on the line for his students. He should be lauded not punished. In this day and age you do not know the intentions of anyone behaving erratically. Stand up for what is right. Mr. Morgan deserves Board recognition for going above and beyond. The parent a ticket to appear in court for violating traffic safety laws.

How could he know if her intention was to harm children? He was sent to that area for a reason — how can he be in trouble for doing what he was sent out there to do? And did anyone have a plan of action for when someone does attempt what this parent did? He should be commended for putting himself in harm’s way for the protection of this student body and staff!

I'm a teacher. They are "our kids" too. Don't mess with our babies. Where is the petition to get the city/town to fine Rita?

This teacher needs a commendation! That parent should apologize to him. What if she were intent on lidnapping or harming a student? And the rules apply to everyone! Every parent in the pick up line applauds him!

As an educator and parent, I support this teacher. I frequently see parents not following rules in drop off and pick up - they drop their children off across the street (and NOT at the cross walk with our crossing guard) resulting in their children almost getting hit, our principal was hit by a car who wasn’t paying attention to those around them, bus drop off and pick up incidents from people ignoring the stop sign while kids are loading and unloading buses, and so many other close calls. Everywhere I have lived and taught, I see speed zones as well as pick up and drop off areas being ignored. If you are late, that doesn’t give you the right to break rules and endanger someone else’s child. This man is protecting his students. He’s protecting someone else’s child. He didn’t show anger. I don’t know if he should have sprawled across this woman’s car (he could have been hurt - but would have proved that point as well), but his job shouldn’t be on the line for this.
Facts given by the driver:
1. SHE was late.
2. She drove around/through an area that was clearly marked off by cones
3. She was on a property that her child didn’t need to be on
4. She was flagged down by not one, but TWO teachers and refused to stop
5. She is recorded in the video by telling this young man - this educator, protector and teacher of children - you don’t know who you playing with.” He did - a parent who felt that teaching her child to ignore rules was the correct thing to do - and to threaten him while she broke them.
6. Go volunteer, Ms. Rita - go see how much this man and the other teachers in your district love these kids. Your kid included.
7. Apologize, Ms. Rita. Teach your child humility, the gift of knowing how to be wrong, how to accept your mistakes, how to follow rules - even if it means you’re late.
8. Set more alarms so that you’re on time.
9. If a child had done what you did, they would have been reprimanded for breaking the rules.
10. If a child had done wh

As a parent and educator, I commend this man for doing what needed to be done. Parents need to realize that rules are in place for a reason and just because they want or need the rules to change doesn't mean they will. This man clearly reacted out of protective concern. He should be praised and the parent should be penalized. Start trusting and siding with staff and stop allowing parents to run the show! Signed and shared in Ontario, Canada

We need more teachers who are willing to insure the safety of our children. This teacher does should not be reprimanded. I hope you followed up with local law enforcement to see if any citations could be rendered to this entitled Parent who is willing to place in harms way all other children.

This parent was being self entitled and potentially endangering kids because she was late, why is it ok for everyone else to have to wait except for her? She even admits the teachers were telling her no you can't go here, admits to driving around cones that were set up to block her, so why the hell is this even an issue? Leave him alone and slap her with a fine, end of story.

No discipline for the teacher. Discipline the entitled woman who thought it was ok for her to sleep late & cut through the elementary.
