I hate parents like this in school lines. He did the right thing.

I see this type of behavior from parents every day in our local car line. It's about time someone steps up and corrects the parents who believe they are above school safety rules. Maybe more parents will think twice before disobeying traffic rules in school zones.

This parent needs to be repermanded officially by the school, her sense of entitlement does not trump the safety rules in place.

He was doing his job and trying to keep the kids safe. Wreckless drivers like her are why accidents happen.

People should follow the rules she is not exempt from following the rules like everybody else, he was only protecting the kids and it's ridiculous for her to actually think that she right that she and her child were late for school but her.

There is too much disregard for rules and self entitlement going on these days. And to do that with an impressionable child in the car. He absolutely did the right thing to protect those children and should be commended for it not disaplined.

No discipline should be taken against this man for standing up for the children’s safety.

This teacher was doing what any teacher should do. Protecting his students!! Fox News is a part of the entitlement problem we see today. They aired that story like the teacher was in the wrong when clearly he was doing what he was hired to do, protect and serve the students. He is the one who got it right here. That mom needs to be served a fine for endangering the students with her wreck less driving.

Clearly the parent is in the wrong. Yes, the Yeager may have found better ways to stop the car, but it was a situation of quick decisions. I fully support this teachers decision and trying to keep the kids safe. SHAME on the mom for having an "I'm more important than everyone else waiting in line like they should" attitude. Her child being late doesn't even compare to the SAFETY of kids.

The driver used poor judgement. She knew she knew what she was doing and it was clear when she said in the interview that she was taking a short CUT as she was late. And that if she turned around she would have to get back into line which means she knew she was out of line. Driving through a parking lot to avoid a light is illegal and I would think that enforcing your rules for use of your parking lots would be a better use of your time than to penalize a teacher that is protecting our youth. This driver was out of line and she is a bad influence to her children showing them that it is ok to drive in areas that are blocked off for the children’s safety. What if this driver was not a mother that was late for school drop off and rather a person with the intent to do harm to the teacher and other children? She was not far off from that behavior by continuing to drive while the teacher was telling her to stop and continuing to drive while he was on her car. This behavior if done to a police officer would warrant an arrest and serious charges against her.

The mother was in the wrong, not the teacher. We are sending the wrong message if he gets in trouble. He was simply going the extra mile to protect the children. School districts need to stop this nonsense about being scared of the parents. This is why we’re facing the problems we are in our schools. It’s time to put your foot down!
