Rita is in the wrong! Sadly, now a days, the teachers are #1 protectors of our children. What if Rita had a weapon? What if Rita had ‘snapped ‘ that morning and decided to mow down some elementary children? Rules are even more important in this troubled age! Rita needs to receive the appropriate tickets from law enforcement that apply to her actions in a school zone! The teacher is the hero here!

This Coach is a hero. I really hope there is no disciplinary action taken against him. This is the type of teacher I would feel comfortable dropping my precious child off to, knowing he would protect her from crazy drivers and selfish entitled people like Ms. Rita Trimmer Ray

It's time parents as well as students who feel entitled to be held accountable for their poor decisions and actions.

He was obviously protecting small children from a woman who drove through a blocked off area, who may not have seen a small child and injured someone!! She is ridiculous and it's a shame that the media spun things to make him look like the bad guy!!

He absolutely did the right thing to protect those children! That lady just thought she was entitled to do as she wanted, without thinking that the rules where put in place for safety!

I am a retired NYC teacher and guidance counselor. I would not have jumped on the parents car, however I understand this teachers conviction. Sad to say, many parents teach their children that it's ok to break rules. Especially in these times of mass shootings, schools have a responsibility to keep our children safe.. being late is no excuse for disobedience
