She openly admits to driving around cones and ignoring teachers telling her to stop. She continued to drive with another human being on the hood of her car. She openly admits to breaking numerous laws. All while putting every student, staff member, and driver in danger. Of she isn't willing to stop for an adult in her way there is no reason to think she would stop for a child. That woman needs the reprimand since was she did was illegal. I would love to believe that if someone was driving irraticaly in my child's school parking lot and that teachers would respond in the same way. When you're plowing through areas when children are designated to walk into school, you should expect someone to use force to stop you. At that point you are no longer important, the children you are endangering are top priority.

This teacher should not be punished, rather celebrated for protecting our children! He is a champion. I wish there were Billions more just like him!

100% he did nothing wrong, she was warned by other teachers and safety didn’t matter to her.

In this crazy world we live in, it’s nice to know that there are still some people who not only take their job seriously but also do whatever means necessary to protect our children. I don’t just stand with this teacher I would also “jump on cars” with him. All the way from California. I support teachers.

It is UNBELIEVABLE to me that this WOMAN feels that the teacher is the one that should be punished. SHE ignored TWO people of authority, drive around cones, and was upset bc he tried to stop her? What other way was he going to do it? Our children break the rules, they get disciplined. This self-entitled poor excuse for an example for her daughter clearly breaks the rules, putting elementary CHILDREN (where she had no reason being)at risk, and wants someone else punished for it? Way to go South Bend School District in re-enforcing this countries self entitlement attitude. The media yet again shows their @ss.

I think he did right. Not letting people cut through during morning drop off is appropriate and he should be awarded and recognized for stopping the unsafe driving behavior. Good job Mr. Young

Good job coach! Running late is no excuse for putting children's lives in danger. I hope you are recognized for your efforts and not punished for them!

We need more people to go all the way for our communities even though it could make them look silly or "crazy" To me he didnt look anything but an all star but to others that are unreasonable and do not understand how dangerous it is at drop off may comprehind his actions as that.

I commend Coach Young jumping into action the way that he did. The mother cutting through the school clearly disregarded warning from other teachers and thought that was “above the rules”. There should be more teachers like Mr. Young who are willing to put themselves in tough situations for the safety of our children. Well done!

I work for an Elementary School and I do the parent drop-off and I see how parents could care less about other children and all they care about is their own time so thank you for this teacher for stepping up and putting a stop to the parent that only think they're the ones who exist in that line!
