This is actually outrageous. Chris has given his entire self to curating an inclusive environment for every student he has ever had contact with. Eliminating not only him, but the position he holds will impact the entire climate of the university. Do better, UWEC.

Diversity is what makes this world full and vibrant and human. We need to foster diversity and inclusion, especially now in the face of such hate.

I am the person that I am today because of uwec lgbtqia+ group. I met my spouse at the bridge along with many of my best friends. The chancellor was all too happy to take credit for all the work Chris and the interns did to make uwec a top ranked campus for lgbt inclusivity and now this? Chris and the community deserves better.

Chris was a great mentor for me, and for so many queer students at UWEC, creating a safe space for so many who may well have just been coming to terms with who we were.

It is sad to see the University that I graduated from bow to the pressures of our current president as he strips our country of our rights and protections as given by our constitution.

We need Chris and need to continue queer clubs at this college, it changed my life for the better when I was a student at UWEC

I met Chris when I was an undergrad at UWEC. Now that I’ve been a higher ed administrator for nearly 8 years, I can still say that Chris Jorgensen is one of the most qualified, most caring, and for many students, most impactful staff members at UWEC. I understand the federal pressures but this decision is unjustifiable. Take this, a message from a proud alumni who is a significant touch less proud today, for what it is.

Chris made my experience at UWEC so much more meaningful (and safe). I learned SO much from him. Sending hugs.

Anyone who tries to take away the rights of the LGBTQ+ community especially in a political climate where that seems to be more and more the norm is absolutely disgusting. I am aggravated that the college i fell in love with would do this. Bring my guy back!

Part of what made UWEC great was how open and accepting it was and removing someone so key to creating that is abhorrent.

An absolutely abhorrent decision, UW-Eau Claire. Ashamed to be an alum today. Thank you, Chris, for creating the spaces my friends & I desperately needed

Chris was always kind, welcoming, and passionate towards the betterment of all students. I think this move jeopardizes the brand of UWEC, the inviting image of the City, endangers anyone identified with LGBTQ+ or as an Ally, and will undoubtedly take years to repair the damage caused by this move. Absolutely disappointing and unacceptable.

Despicable. I’ll remember this fondly when they ask for donations.

Wrong. All of it. Do better EC.
This is a huge loss for the campus UWEC
