Chris is amazing and his performance of Georgia at the fire ball is one of my core memories from my time at UWEC. The move to eliminate the positions listed in the petition is very disheartening. Do better UWEC.

i would never have gone to Eau Claire without the Bridge, Q-fest, or Fireball, and only made it through all four years with the support of Chris, and the support of my friends who worked with this department. its embarassing to UWEC as a whole to be considering removing this role.

Chris is part of one of my first memories on campus. Chris created so many programs for people like me and not like me. He facilitated so much joy and safety for so many students. His firing is disgusting and exactly what UWEC should not be doing. One of the few people on campus that I knew I could go to, thankfully I never needed to but if I did he would have been the first person I would have spoken to. This is a loss for the campus culture and I fear that EC won’t recover if something isn’t changed immediately.

Dr. Jorgensen was an AMAZING professor when I had him. By firing him, UWEC is loosing an amazing person who’s duties deeply enriched the campus community and culture. I am very saddened by this decision.

Disturbing and dangerous. For many years this university has been lauded as one of the most queer friendly universities in the country, it’s infuriating to see them so willfully throw the community under the bus.

Chris started as a grad student, working harder than most to build up visibility, support, and make the University more inclusive for all. UWEC gladly accepted his work as a recruiting tool, even though it was a labor of love for his community and for the students. Now admin is disposing of someone when they can no longer profit in funding. Should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. May you br haunted by the ghosts of all the students you will lose in recruitment. This is intentional harm upon the student body.

Please do not bend to the current federal administration’s fascist ways. DEI and being a welcoming campus for racial and other minorities (ex. LGBTQIA) is why UWEC is ranked so high among Universities.

Chris and all his work has helped me as a student, community member, and overall human years back and continues to shape me. This is indeed abhorrent and needs to be reversed or alumni dollars will NOT be coming in
