This is just ridiculous and another ploy from the far right to make people disappear.. jokes on them because we are right here and we are done with standing by!

UWEC needs to stand up and do what is right, do not bend the knee to the current administration and their vile attacks on marginalized students. What Chris does on this campus makes a huge difference for the LGBTQ+ community. Please don’t just say you support us, show us you support us and stand up for your marginalized students and faculty. Bring him back!

Nothing good can come of the elimination of Chris' position. UWEC has in the past been a place of acceptance for all people's, however with this decision it is hard to continue to believe that.

Letting Chris go and then having the gall to not bother informing the students is exactly why this other guy should not, and can not, fulfill the role Chris has at this school.

It is absolutely deplorable and disgusting that you would even consider firing Chris. That man is quite literally the only person that made me feel safe and included on campus. How dare you take away one of the only good things that school ever produced.

Student need access to life saving gender affirming care and the resources to access them. Removing a position will only create more of a void

The university should be ashamed of this decision. UWEC has been ranked one of the highest universities for safety and belonging of LGBTQIA+ students in the nation. This goes against the will of the students and communities. This goes against years of precedent. The vice chancellor and interim chancellor should be ashemed

Pretty sad and disappointing that UWEC is choosing to do this especially in the current political and cultural climate when it's more important than ever to support and defend LGBT+ people.

I'm going to UW-Eau Claire for it's queer-friendly resources, I don't want to be cheated out of it because higher ups think they're "allowed" to do it in 2025

This is a disgraceful act that will only continue to marginalize and remove opportunities from minority groups on campus. I thought we were better than this.

“most LGBTQ friendly campus” eliminates position dedicated to queer equity on campus… do better UWEC you’re embarassing yourselves, your students, and your alumni

I always admired UWEC for being unwavering in their acceptance of all students, and providing resources to LGBTQIA+ students, including myself. It's disappointing to see how much the school has changed since my graduation 2 years ago.

As an alum of UWEC, Chris’ position is extremely vital for a safe and supportive campus culture.

Chris made my college experience feel so much better. I felt like I had a place to belong and experiences to look forward every single year. He has worked so hard to create a place of inclusion on our campus and removing him would be an incredible mistake. Please, please consider all those who would be affected by his loss on the UWEC campus. I am so disappointed in UWEC. Please fix this. Chris is an incredible, hard working person who deserves to continue his work on this campus. I am an alumni and look forward to coming back to support UWEC every year for fireball after moving. Please let the community continue our feeling of unity at one of the hardest times politically.
