This is so very harmful to All students of UWEC, not limited to queer students.
This is harmful to the legacy of the institution and to the community as a whole.

I find it tragic that this school which I have grown to love is caving to political pressure. I understand that this may seem like a drop in the bucket compared to other things happening in this country, but remember that even drops can fill a bucket if there are enough of them.

UWEC is my Alma mater, and this decision is such a terrible one. Makes me ashamed to be a Blugold

one of the biggest reasons i came to uwec was because of it's beautiful lgbtq+ community and resources. i chose to come to this institution that hs been known for its openness and acceptance of the lgbtq+ community. i do not pay thousands of dollars every year and pour my blood, sweat, and tears into our wonderful community just to have that ripped away from us. i will not stand for this unjust treatment that has such a profound affect on myself and so many other students on campus.

Our country started as a melting pot. This move of UWEC is concerning! You are headed in the wrong direction!

As a UWEC alumni (class of ‘90), I am shocked, horrified and embarrassed of the decision to remove Chris and the Diversity program. I never thought I would see this kind of regression from my university, nor the fact that I will not be encouraging my grandkids to attend a college like this. Get a spine UWEC!

Chris provided the ONLY education on LGBTQ+ topics in UWEC’s entire nursing curriculum. We NEED him.

This is a complete disgrace. How can you even look at yourself in the mirror after such a cowardly act. Stop bending the knee to authoritarians. Stand for something!

Shame on UWEC. When I attended orientation in 2017 they proudly printed and handed out promotional material flaunting how they were one of the most gay-friendly midwest campuses. Now, they throw the queer community under the bus when it is time to take a stand. What an absolute lack of character and courage. I am a very disappointed alumni today.

As an alum and EC native, I could not believe that this is the behavior coming from the UWEC administration. Shame on you for backing down and withdrawing funding for vulnerable populations in a time when demonstrating strength and resistance is needed most.

As a UWEC alumni, this is so disheartening to hear. The inclusion I was met with when going to school at EC is the only reason I stayed.

I am extremely disappointed. DEI MATTERS!! I’m in college and this is ridiculous. I’m not paying money for school not be included in the curriculum.
