There are better places for this. I'm all for gun ownership, but having a shooting range this close to an elementary school is absurd.

As an elementary school teacher for over 25 years I have lived my life through the eyes of a child before and after Columbine. The placement of a gun range beside an elementary will raise fear and confusion in a large population of children. A gun range will serve its purpose more effectively in a different location.

Please find an open unpopulated area for this type of facility. It doesn't belong in our small town community next to a school!

The placement of a gun range adjacent to Dolsen elementary school defies all logic. A more suitable location would be along Grand River in the industrial section. I cannot even believe this is happening.

I find this shocking that our local board would even CONSIDER allowing a gun gun range to be put right near a school. I am completely against this.

How could anyone think that putting a shooting range within 1,000 feet of an elementary school would be a good idea?? No matter how safe it may be, this sends the wrong message about school safety. Did we not just have another shooting at an elementary school this week? No way!!

As a parent of 2 Dolsen students and mental health provider, I am very opposed to the location of this gun range. Keeping our children safe in a world where schools have become a target should be the first thing on everyone's agenda. Let's move it to a more appropriate place.

I am against the location they chose. My two daughters attend Dolsen Elementary. I think is a poor choice to build a gun range on the vicinity of an Elementary School.

I have a daughter and a foster daughter at dolsen. Am I worried, yes. I don't like this idea. My daughter suffers from anxiety, any noises she worries. She asks questions, I would hate for this to be heard at the school and she can't concentrate. (If noise is heard.) We hear the gun range all the way down grand river some days, the sound does travel.
Just put this somewhere else, please.
Let's keep our kids safe and comfortable and anxiety free. It just makes sense.
