I appreciate what Officer Mitch did. Had it not been a hoax..his warning could have saved numerous lives. We all like to think something like this couldn't happen here, but it could. Better safe than sorry.

This man should be an example to other SRO officers to follow.

As a parent with one child at WOES and five at CHS, I applaud Officer Mitch for warning all of us. I'm appalled that Joe Poletti called this incident a "disruption" and maintained the day should be conducted as a "normal school day". I'm also appalled that Mitch was removed from his duties for looking out for the safety of all our children.

Heard about this grave act of injustice. What if this had not been A hoax. You would have had another Oregon tragedy.

As a parent of high school child who attends another school, this is always a fear of mine. Everyone should be more focused and grateful it didn't happen. I would rather be safe than sorry. You did what any concerned parent would have done. I thank you and God Bless!!!!!

Bring him back ASAP. He was doing what he thought was the right thing. Better be safe than sorry. This is just ridiculous, if something happened and they found out later he didn't report it, he would be in jail. Is was obviously not done out of malice. I stand with him 100%

I feel the school board failed us in this, and Officer Mitch stepped up. The message sent to me by the school would have come after my kids had boarded the bus for school. If not for Officer Mitch I would not have been able to keep my kids home which is my right as a parent.

Just because nothing ended up happening does not mean nothing had actually been planned. Removing a trusted member of the school community for simply doing his job and thus causing that school to be unprotected is irresponsible and short sited.

He did what he thought was the safe thing for the children. It's not a waste as long as we're all still alive and well.
