He had a right to share his concern on his personal page just as any parent would. His badge doesn't mean he stops being a parent. At the same time his badge makes him want to protect the kids... kids that have grown up with him and love him. If anyone should lose their job over this it should be Dr. Novey he let parents down by not informing us of the possible situation. Instead I found out by social media that my son's school was having such a threat!

He is always so nice and needs to be back with the kids. This was such a stupid thing to let him go for. Yes did he maybe freak some parents out sure but imagine for just a minute that a shooting really did happen how many lives he would have saved with just that one harmless information message.

I live in Maryland, but I know two girls (who are like family to me) who lived in NC and attended the school where Officer Mitch works. I totally stand behind him and I wish more people would speak up!

If i had a child that attend a school where someone heard of possible shooting, I WOULD want to know so i could protect my child. He absolutely did the RIGHT thing. Good for him, shame on the school for not taking it more seriously.

Officer Mitch is a WOES fixture. I take my kids to school and KNOW that someone is there that cares and puts his life on the line for them. Dan Novey is the one that deserves to step down.

I have only met Officer Mitch twice he was very polite. My daughter is very shy and speaks to no one so I was very surprised when she spoke to him and gave him a High 5. I would be sad to see him go and she would too..
