Great officer! Great person! Great member of WOES family! Great father and father like figure to his children and WOES children! Great professional! Great friend to many! WOES needs him and wants him back!!!!

My family supports officer Mitch! Without him my son would have continued to endure bullying because of his size. Instead officer Mitch gave him courage and esteem! God bless this man for taking the time to give kids love , hope and courage! He is a hero!

We want officer Mitch back. We actually like that he warned everyone via social media. I wish the school board had the same consideration for our children that Mitch does.

Thank you for letting the parents know and possibly stopping a terrible event. As a teacher I thought it won't happen as a parent I was thankful that I could have a conversation with my child before heading out to school that morning. THANK YOU.

It is ridiculous that I am having to sign a petition to reinstate someone that was fired for trying to protect children in school. I just read where a 12 yr old boy was contemplating suicide but went to Officer Schelinder because he felt he was approachable, and that 12 year old is still among us today. This is the kind of man you want protecting your children.

My taxes pay his salary not the school board. He has been there for several years and the children respect him !,,

Great job Officer Mitch! Too many people know somethings coming and don't say anything until after the fact! If you have not posted it and something happened you would be being question right now so keep your head up, you did nothing wrong by putting potential danger info on your private Facebook. If you read it and don't like it that's your problem! Next time put down the Facebook and go do something productive!!

Thank you for being proactive! If something had happened, and you had done nothing, they would have thrown you under the bus and blamed it all on you!

The judgement call by this officer was with good intentions to keep children and teachers safe. How dare the school board not back him. It's was his personal Facebook page he has a right and a duty to warn families of potential danger. Thank you Officer Mitch for going above and beyond you call of duty... My children attend school in Onslow County I saw this on the news and wanted to show you my support.

My daughter attended WOES and now my grandson attends there. Officer Mitch is an asset to the school as,well as the community. We need more officers just like him. Bring him back!

OfficerMitch has been a great asset to White Oak Elementary over the years and personally to one of my daughters outside of the school system. It would be a grave mistake to remove him from his position. I appreciate him and his caring attitude very much!

One of the most honest and humble people I have ever met. I will never forget when he selflessly donated a kidney to his uncle over 20 years ago. I have known the man for almost 25 years and I trust him with my life and those close to me. It would be a huge mistake to remove him as SRO. There is no way one would find a finer man. John R.
