Mitch wasn't directing traffic this morning and it was a hot mess! He has always had the safety of the children as his top priority and shouldn't be punished for speaking up about a potential threat when no one else would!

So alarming that the only person who was willing to alert people to a threat to our children is being removed. I'm disappointed in our police department and our schools. Thinking of taking my child out of Carteret county. Thank you officer Mitch for being the only one willing to protect my child.

His heart was in the right place. Yes, he made a mistake, but why take him from a place where children have grown to know him and feel safe with him in their presence? What message are you sending those children? If he hadn't of been concerned and posted his concern, and something bad did happen, how many of the children that did stay home may have gotten hurt or worse?

Why is it okay to punish someone for looking out for the well being of a community? Officer Mitch is amazing at his job and he cares about the people of this community. We should be praising him for alerting us about the possible tragedy that could have happened, we should NOT be telling people that he has done wrong when he obviously has done the right thing. I will be truly disappointed if people don't realize this soon.

For us to even have this petition have to be started is absolutely ridiculous. Leave this man alone, leave his job alone, he's obviously an awesome cop. Nice to know though, that you are willing to get rid of great people for crappy robots. NO thank you, I'll keep the real person, me and my family 100% stand behind Officer Mitch.

You are only hurting our youth by removing officer Mitch! Officers like him show our children how wonderful and supportive our law enforcement is.
