In light of the incident that happened at a community college in Oregon yesterday I feel the suspension of Officer Mitch is totally uncalled for. He felt he was doing a service to the parents, children and school. I feel he could have saved lives by his actions if events turned out badly. To bad school officials didn't feel the same. The actions of the scroll officials are inexcusable.

Error or not he could have saved lives. Too bad his information was not given to the Oregon campus yesterday. They might still be alive. School board is wrong on this one.

Please reinstate Officer Mitch. His integrity honesty and compassion are evident as he conducts his duty. It would be a terrible miscarriage to dismiss a good man for following his intuition in a situation such as this.

I don't personally know him but he was only protecting the students & if the shooting was to occur he would have been the hero. There shouldn't be a punishment for protecting the students at the school. He should be rewarded even though nothing happened.

I believe his heart was all in the right intentions. Even if the shooting did not happen, if it had he would have saved 260 lives. I appreciate that fully.

I have personally known Mitch for over 25 years... he only concerns himself about those he swore to protect. He was doing what he swore to do. A man of honor and of his word. Bring him back to protect our children.

Interesting how good public servants acting in their role and lane of responsibility are disciplined when intelligence isn't perfectly accurate. The nature of intelligence is to inform decisions based on reasoned assessments of the situation. Officer Mitch is a dedicated public servant of children in this community. Put him back on duty!

Officer Mitch is a blessing to the students and staff at WOES, my son looked forward to seeing him everyday, and thoroughly enjoyed his DARE program last year as a 5th grader. We still see him occasionally in the community and my son still is happy to see him and still amazed that officer Mitch still remember his name!
